Check Ups
Check ups are essential wellness examinations that should be done once per year for younger pets and twice per year for senior pets. Remember, it’s far safer – and less expensive! – to catch health challenges early before they become urgent or life-threatening.
Check ups include a complete head-to-toe examination of your pet, including:
- Alertness
- Body composition
- Capillary refill time
- Cardiovascular system (heart)
- Ears
- Eyes
- Gastrointestinal system (Abdomen)

- Mucous membranes
- Musculoskeletal system
- Neurologic system
- Respiration rate
- Respiratory system (trachea, lungs)
- Teeth and oral cavity
