This lecture reviews the presentation, physical exam findings and diagnostic workup for dogs with cranial cruciate ligament injuries and is RACE approved for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
A review of the current literature and discussion of the surgical options will be reviewed (lateral suture, Tightrope, TPLO and TTA).
Options for conservative management and home therapy programs will be presented.
The goal for the participant is to become comfortable with diagnosis, client education and recommendations for this very common orthopedic condition.

Staff Surgeon and Director of The Rollins Center for Animal Rehabilitation
Dr. Garzotto is a Board Certified small animal surgeon since 2001 who achieved certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) in 2012.
Since 2005, she has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and as a surgeon at select hospitals in the region.
In addition to orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, Dr. Garzotto has particular interest in the areas of sports medicine, rehabilitation and pain management, oncologic surgery and wound management/reconstructive surgery.
This program was reviewed and approved by the AAVSB RACE program for 1.5 hours of continuing education in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval.
