Dr. Hutton is Medical Director of Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey, with an executive portfolio that includes leadership, coordination and medical management of all departments, staff and protocols of the hospital. She heads one of the region’s leading veterinary teams, including Board Certified specialists, noted clinicians and experienced nurses across more than a dozen departments and sections.
Dr. Hutton is also a staff veterinarian in the Department of Internal Medicine at Saint Francis Veterinary Center.
Prior to joining the Saint Francis team, Dr. Hutton was a Lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2005-2007. In 2007, Dr. Hutton worked as a research Fellow in infectious disease, sponsored by the Veterinary Center for Infectious Diseases, at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Hutton was a National Institutes of Health NRSA post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2010 to 2012, Dr. Hutton was a staff Internal Medicine Specialist in private practice in Pennsylvania. She joined Saint Francis Veterinary Center in 2012.
Dr. Hutton earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and her DVM at Cornell University. She completed her internship at Colorado State University and her residency in Internal Medicine at Cornell University. She earned her Masters in Translational Research at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Hutton has a special interest in infectious disease, particularly trends in antimicrobial resistance.
In her spare time, Dr. Hutton enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters and working on her garden whenever possible. The Hutton family also includes two rescued pets, a Labrador Retriever and a cat. She has lived in the Philadelphia area since 2005 and loves the culture, museums, scenic locales, great food, and the experience of all four seasons of the North East.
