Dr. Youello completed a B.S. in molecular biology at Harvey Mudd College, a Ph.D. in immunology at Washington University in St. Louis, and a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she won the Abbott Animal Health/VECCS Award for Proficiency in Emergency and Critical Care. She has presented her research at national conferences, published in multiple journals, received funding from the Morris Animal Foundation, and won the Ballard research award at the Morris Animal Foundation annual meeting.
Her special interests include critical care and pain management. She chose a career in veterinary medicine because she loves the variety and challenge of complex cases, the collaborative nature of the field, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their families.
Dr. Youello and her husband live in Broomall with their one year old son, Harrison, and 3 rescued dogs: fuzzy and adorable Lughseach, silly Jersey, and crazy Kaywinnit (all mixed breeds). She loves being near the mountains, the ocean, and the best soft pretzels in the world, and is glad to be back in the area after spending years on the west coast and in the midwest. In her free time she loves distance running, aerial dance, and spending time with her family.
She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association.
