Amanda is a technician in the Department of Emergency and Critical Care. She joined our team in April 2013 after working as a veterinary technician, treatment nurse, and wildlife rehabilitator at a small animal general practice for four years.
Amanda enjoys working with wildlife. She recently volunteered in South Africa at Khulula Care for Wild conservation in October 2012. While there, she focused on hand rearing, infant care, nutrition, and rehabilitation of varied species on the stunning game reserve. She plans on returning to South Africa in the future for another volunteer project.
Amanda has three dogs: a Chihuahua “Nemo”, Malti-poo “Princess”, and Great Dane “Quinn”, as well as one tuxedo cat “Bane”. Nemo, Princess, and Bane were all rescues from the previous practice. Quinn is her new puppy. Amanda has a special place in her heart for Great Danes, so you could say she is obsessed with the breed. In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her animals, pet sitting, going to the gym, surfing, and traveling.
