American Animal Hospital Association CEO Recognizes Saint Francis

The American Animal Hospital Association accredits Saint Francis as a Referral practice, a designation achieved by fewer than 1% of hospitals in North America

REF_tC_2(Woolwich Township, NJ) – Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey has earned significant industry distinction as an accredited specialty referral practice from the American Animal Hospital Association, a designation achieved by fewer than one (1) percent of animal hospitals in North America.  Presently, fewer than 250 of the more than 27,000 animal hospitals in North America have earned this particular accreditation.  Of the approximately 3,100 hospitals that have achieved the standard (non referral) AAHA accreditation designation, fewer than seven (7) percent have achieved designation as “Referral”.

Saint Francis Veterinary Center is the only animal hospital in South Jersey to achieve AAHA Referral accreditation.  In the State of New Jersey, fewer than half a dozen other practices are accredited as AAHA Referral, all of which are located in Central or North Jersey.

Saint Francis earned six separate AAHA Referral accreditation designations for the following specialty areas: Surgery, Cardiology, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Canine/Feline.

“Our medical staff is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care, and our designation as a Referral-accredited practice by the American Animal Hospital Association reflects this,” commented Mark F. Magazu, DVM, Chairman and Owner of Saint Francis Veterinary Center.  “I commend our medical team, led by Dr. Karyn Collier, Chief Medical Officer, and Julie Hirsch-Fitzpatrick, CVT, VTS, Chief Operating Officer.  This achievement would not be possible without the tremendous efforts of Jasmine Guerrero, our AAHA Coordinator and Safety Officer, whose work on this effort has been praiseworthy and impressive. I am so very proud of our team today.”
